A tradition for generations of families, the InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco provides the quintessential San Francisco holiday experience. Revelers can celebrate the season at the venerable hotel with everything from a hearty Thanksgiving, playful holiday teas, a sparkling Christmas Eve and Day, right through to a glamorous New Year’s Eve, followed by an indulgent New Year’s Day brunch. It is also possible to create a personal holiday occasion in one of the hotel’s private suites with awe-inspiring views, or in one of their unique and decadent ballrooms, with the added attraction this year of special offers and perks for those throwing parties.
General Manager Michael Pace states, “Both locals and out of town guests are charmed by the hotel at this time of year. It’s a magical place, filled with lavish decorations, anchored by the beauty of our stately lobby tree, and with festive music playing throughout.”
As splendid now as when it opened to great fanfare in 1926, the 19-story hotel’s architecture is a combination of French Chateau and Spanish Renaissance, embellished with elaborate terra cotta ornamentation. Because the hotel consists of a tall central tower and two wings outstretched like arms, the rooms offer spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay, the city, the surrounding hills, and the ocean. New-world amenities and services enhance the hotel’s original character of old-world luxury and style, offering a seamless blend of historic charm and contemporary comfort.
With its rich legacy of impeccable hospitality and grand architectural style, the InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco is also a beloved landmark. It is located at the crest of celebrated Nob Hill combined with historic charm, modern amenities, and breathtaking views make this premier hotel one of the city’s most sought-after destinations for luxury accommodations, meetings, weddings, and Bay Area exploring. The hotel features 383 luxurious rooms including 33 suites and 6 specialty suites, and offers 19,000 square feet of flexible event space, with two historic ballrooms. Crowning the historic building is the legendary Top of the Mark, where most of the hotel’s holiday events are held, a sky-lounge famed for its signature cocktails and mesmerizing views.
